Haritz Albisua: «Tomorrow the three points have to stay here»

Haritz Albisua spoke to the media ahead of the match against AD Alcorcón, which will be played this Saturday, 10 October, at 18:30 at the Estadio Pinilla, on matchday seven of the Primera Federación. The Rojillo midfielder talked about the mood in the dressing room, the team's improvement in recent weeks, his partnership with Relu and the need to secure the first win in front of the fans.

The midfielder said the group is approaching the match with real eagerness: «I see the team really wanting tomorrow to come. After a defeat, the first thing we want is for the next match to arrive as soon as possible». On the football side, he believes the team has taken a step forward in the last two matches: «Even though we lost the other day, I think we have made a change compared with the previous matches». During the week, he explained, they analysed the mistakes they made, how to hurt the opponent and how to «minimise our errors, which is what is costing us».

On a personal level, Albisua said he feels «confident and secure», backed by the trust of the coaching staff, and noted that the team only needs to lift the weight of the first win: «I hope it comes tomorrow, and when it does everything looks different». Asked about his midfield partner, he explained that the set-up depends on the opponent and on playing at home or away, although he highlighted how comfortable he feels alongside Relu: «He covers a lot of ground, frees me up in my defensive work and I feel very comfortable with him».

As one of the veterans in the dressing room, Albisua also talked about Sergio Moreno, a player he described as someone who «competes at the highest level and goes to the limit, as he should», never taking a step back. «Opponents often go after him. There is a good side and a bad side to that, but he presses as hard as anyone in the front line and that also helps us get out of certain pressing situations», he explained. On the atmosphere at away grounds, he said he has never felt a lack of respect from opposing players, many of them former teammates.

On video reviews, he noted that the team has known since last season how the system works and that the on-field decision usually stands unless the images are very clear. «We have to do what is in our hands: give everything in every play and be a bit careful in the grey areas. From there, it must not drain our energy. We already learned from these situations and we are ready».

Finally, facing a demanding fixture list, Albisua focused solely on Saturday's match: «The league is what it is, it is hard to beat anyone, just as it is hard to beat us, especially here at home. Alcorcón are a very difficult opponent, but we are playing at home and we need to win. We are going to get it done: tomorrow the three points have to stay here».
