CD Teruel and SD Huesca share the points in the first Aragonese derby at Pinilla (1-1)

CD Teruel and SD Huesca drew this Sunday at the Estadio Pinilla (1-1), on matchday five of the Primera Federación and in the first Aragonese derby of the season. Albisua put the Rojillo side ahead before half-time and Juárez equalised for the visitors with a quarter of an hour remaining, in an even, intense and high-quality contest played in front of a practically full stadium that included more than three hundred away fans.

Kiko Ramírez started with Zarco in goal; Borge, Álvaro López, Nathanael and Joserra in defence; Relu, Albisua and Hugo Redón in midfield; and Sergio Moreno, Gallardo and Mario Sesé up front. The inclusion of Nathanael, the only left-footed centre-back in the squad, allowed the team to line up with a back four and returned Relu to the holding midfield role.

The team was solid from the start, with compact lines and good cover to stop Huesca's collective build-up. The visitors had more of the ball but only managed a couple of off-target headers from Enrich in the first half hour. CD Teruel threatened through Sesé's runs: a corner he won left Nathanael inches away from heading in, and on the half-hour a counter-attack driven by Albisua and Gallardo ended with a shot from Sergio Moreno that flew just wide.

Huesca responded with their clearest chance, an Enrich shot that Álvaro López blocked as it headed for goal. The Rojillos' best spell came just before the break, with Sergio Moreno winning free kicks and second balls. From one of them, Relu delivered into the area and Albisua pounced on the rebound to make it 1-0 (38th minute), confirmed after a VAR review, CD Teruel's first goal of the league campaign. Before the interval, Sesé hit the outside of the post, Gómez went close to an equaliser with a volley and Gallardo found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a move between Borge and Albisua just as the referee blew for half-time.

After the restart the match grew tenser. Huesca went more direct with the introduction of Luismi Redondo and Tresaco (63rd minute), while CD Teruel held firm in their own area and looked to break quickly through Sesé and Gallardo. As the minutes passed, fatigue began to tell and the visitors started to get closer, forcing Álvaro López and Nathanael into repeated interventions.

Kiko Ramírez brought on Borikó and Lluís Llácer for Joserra, who had been booked, and Sergio Moreno (75th minute). In the very next move, Luismi Redondo and Juárez combined through the middle and Juárez made it 1-1 (76th minute). Moraitis and Belevonis later replaced Gallardo and Sesé (80th and 81st minutes), and Pablo Felipe came on for Nathanael in the 90th minute, and the closing stages belonged to the visitors, although the Rojillo side held on without too much trouble. In the final action (90+5), Zarco cleared a loose ball off the line, and the VAR review confirmed that it had not fully crossed it.

CD Teruel have two points after the first five matchdays and will face another Aragonese derby in their next league fixture, away to Real Zaragoza at the Ibercaja Estadio on Sunday 4 October at 21:00.
