CD Teruel compete in Palamós, but UE Sant Andreu take the points (2-0)

CD Teruel lost 2-0 to UE Sant Andreu on Saturday in Daniel González's first match in charge of the Rojillos, a matchday ten Primera Federación fixture played in Palamós. The Teruel side had chances to go ahead in the first half, but the Barcelona team were more clinical in the boxes after the break, with goals from Jaume Tovar in the 52nd minute and Pau in the 89th.

Daniel González opted for a back five: Zarco in goal; Borge and Lluís Llácer as wing-backs, with Álvaro López, Nathanael and Joserra in the middle; Albisua and Hugo Redón in midfield; Goyo and Edu Gallardo out wide, and Sergio Moreno up front. Sant Andreu had more of the ball early on and Àlex Bermejo had the first chance, a shot from inside the six-yard box that went over.

CD Teruel soon adjusted their pressing and found their best form when winning the ball and breaking, especially down Llácer and Goyo's side. The Rojillos had the clearest chances of the first half: on the half-hour, Edu Gallardo received a great pass from Albisua inside the box and his shot flew over the bar, and shortly afterwards Goyo, again set up by Albisua, hit a left-footed effort just wide of the post. The break arrived goalless and with good feelings for Daniel González's side.

After the break, home coach Javi Rey brought on M. Delgado and Sant Andreu stepped up and took the lead in the 52nd minute: Àlex Bermejo delivered a cross from the right that Jaume Tovar finished in the box to make it 1-0. The Rojillo coach reacted immediately by bringing on Sander Ballero and Mario Sesé, who gave the team more possession and penetration and allowed CD Teruel to settle in the opposition half in search of an equaliser. Carlos Igual and Miguel Romera later came on too, in place of Llácer and Goyo.

In the closing stages, with CD Teruel pushing forward, the game opened up. In the 83rd minute, Álvaro López was sent off after a VAR review for a last-man foul on Tovar, and the resulting free kick hit the post. Down to ten men, the team kept looking for an equaliser, but in the 89th minute Pau, set up by Serrano, made it 2-0. Zarco, with five saves, kept the team in the game until the end.

CD Teruel are already thinking about their next fixture, the visit of UD Ibiza to the Estadio Pinilla on Saturday, 7 November, at 16:30, a match in which the team will look to return to winning ways in front of their fans.
