CD Teruel fall to SD Huesca in Tardienta in their fifth friendly (3-1)

CD Teruel played their fifth friendly of pre-season on Sunday, losing 3-1 to SD Huesca at the Santa Quiteria municipal ground in Tardienta. A top-level test against an opponent from the same division that will provide very useful lessons ahead of the league opener.
Kiko Ramírez's side competed on equal terms from the start. After five minutes came the first rojillo chance, a move built between Sergio Moreno and Mario Sesé that Romera struck just wide. In the exchange of attacks that followed, the hosts went ahead with a shot from outside the box and, shortly before half-time, doubled their lead.
In the first half, Zarco kept goal with Llácer, Álvaro López, Relu and Borikó at the back; Romera, Albisua and a very lively Hugo Redón in midfield; and Edu Gallardo alongside Sergio Moreno and Sesé in attack. The team pushed for an equaliser with purpose throughout the first act.
After the break, CD Teruel took control of the game. Kiko Ramírez went to his bench, moved Gallardo into the playmaker role with Borikó wide, and refreshed the defence with Joserra, Borge and Pablo Felipe. The pressure paid off with an extraordinary individual action by Mario Sesé: he picked up a loose ball in midfield, ran thirty metres past several opponents and made it 2-1 with a crisp shot inside the post. A genuine wonder goal.
In the closing stages, with Gucik, Carlos Igual and debutant Christos Belevonis on the pitch and Goyo Medina very insistent down the left, the team kept chasing the equaliser. In those minutes, Andrés Borge had to come off with muscle discomfort after a stretched cross; the club is monitoring the player's progress and wishes him a speedy recovery. Right at the end, Huesca made it the definitive 3-1.
The team thus completes another demanding rehearsal in its preparation and now looks to the final days of work before the league opener: Monday 31 August against Real Madrid Castilla at Pinilla (9:15 pm). Thank you to the rojillo fans who accompanied the team in Tardienta. Vamos Teruel! ❤️💙
