Daniel González: «These lads are giving absolutely everything»

Daniel González, CD Teruel head coach, spoke at a press conference ahead of this Sunday's match, 8 November at 12:00, against UD Ibiza at the Estadio Pinilla, on matchday eleven of the Primera Federación. The Rojillo coach assessed the team's improvement, Bebé's arrival and the changes made to the daily work.
The coach explained that the team faces the match with the same desire as last week: «With three days of work we took on Sant Andreu and, analysing the match, there were more good things. You could not ask more of the lads. You leave with a bitter taste after a defeat, but the team showed that it wants to give a different image and go for the game without hiding».
Daniel González thanked Bebé for joining: «First of all, I thank Bebé for coming to our club. It is not easy, with his career, to choose to join a team in this position in the table. There is work behind it from the sporting management». He stressed that the attacker «has experienced dressing rooms in professional football and moments like the ones we are going through» and that he can contribute a lot in attack: «To score goals you have to get into the box. Bebé is a goalscorer who has also provided assists, and we believe he can help us enormously».
On the approach, the coach made it clear that the team will go for the game: «All teams are very well studied and, depending on what we face, the adjustments will be one way or another. Here, these lads are giving absolutely everything. During the week the work has been very intense, and the team will not hide at any moment».
He highlighted UD Ibiza's quality and the experience of their bench: «They have the coach with the most wins in the division and a style that goes for the game. It is a club prepared for professional football. But in the end we are at the same table and we have to play our game, knowing where we are and with a well-defined playing model».
Finally, Daniel González detailed the changes in the training methodology: «We have changed the training methodology. Now the exercises are geared towards the playing model and there is a high intensity load, because players need dynamism and spark». The coach explained that he has the backing of Omar Ruiz, fitness coach with experience in professional academies, and Juan José Flores, goalkeeping coach with experience in professional football, and that the workload is closely monitored: «Every day they go to the gym before going out onto the pitch with the ball. The GPS data tell us the team is accumulating more load and we have to be careful not to injure any player. We will go without any fear of repeating efforts».
